City of Salisbury has a renowned reputation for environmental leadership and sustainable development. Riverwalk was developed on 1.83 ha of land along Whites Road, Parafield Gardens and is now home to 21 families.
Taking its cue from the natural landscape, the design focused on larger allotments for a growing family with a focus on wellbeing thanks to an abundance of open space in the form of reserves and a cycling and walking trail, enabling residents and visitors to slip away from the hustle and bustle of urban life and connect with nature.
Conforming to high environmental standards, homes achieved a 6-star energy rating that featured at least 1.5kw of solar panels and provided homes, parks and gardens with access to recycled water.
The heart of Riverwalk is the Little Para River. The fresh water river threads through the various natural landscapes and flora; including eucalypts, woodland and native golden wattle, wetland spaces, even the odd almond tree and orange grove providing a picture perfect backdrop for the whole family to enjoy hiking and biking.
